Substance Use Outpatient
Substance Use Outpatient, located at Park Center’s Carew Office, provides recovery and consumer-focused care to people who use or are addicted to alcohol, prescription drugs, or other substances. Substance Use Outpatient also provides treatment to those who may have co-existing psychiatric conditions. As an intern in Substance Use Outpatient, you will learn to facilitate groups, conduct intake assessments, and provide individual therapy, under the guidance of a clinical supervisor. You will also learn about other treatment provided within Substance Use Services including Medication Assisted Treatment and the Residential Addiction Unit.
Qualified applicants will be graduate students in social work, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, or a related field. Students are expected to have a basic knowledge of the DSM-5 and the ability to formulate diagnostic impressions. A basic knowledge of addictions is helpful but not required.
Interested students will find application instructions in the Graduate Internship Manual. Applications, and supporting material, should be emailed at least eight weeks prior to the expected start date.
