The Redwoods is a residential sexual health treatment program for males ages 12-19 who are referred by county DCS or Juvenile Probation Departments. The program offers holistic, evidence-based treatment with the goal of preventing recidivism and developing the youth’s capacity to succeed in his community. As an intern at Redwoods, you will explore all aspects of the program, including co-facilitating groups, interacting with residents, participating in staffing, and attending meetings such as medication reviews and court hearings. All activities are conducted under the guidance of an internship supervisor.
Qualified applicants will be associate or bachelor-level students in human services, psychology, social work, or a related degree. Applicants should possess good written and oral communication skills, as well as professionalism. A general knowledge of mental health issues is preferred.
Interested students will find application instructions in the Undergraduate Internship Manual. Applications, and supporting material, should be emailed at least eight weeks prior to the expected start date.
NOTE: Students applying for an internship with an adolescent group home must provide three professional references and complete a physical. Please use documents below to complete these tasks.
