Adolescent Day Treatment Program
As a part of our Family Education Center, Park Center offers an intensive day-treatment program for adolescents coping with mood swings, emotionality, anxiety, anger difficulties, interpersonal problems, and family stress. Structured programming is designed to assist youth with mood stabilization, improved behavioral choices, school retention, improved family relations, and healthier peer relationships.
Youth are instructed in *Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills and/or Aggression Replacement Training. In DBT, youth learn emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and social skills.
In Aggression Replacement Training (ART), youth learn prosocial skill streaming, anger control, and moral reasoning.
* Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a cognitive-behavioral treatment for people with borderline personality disorder or other impulse control problems such as suicidal and self-injurious behavior and risky substance use.
